Congratulations on completing Your LPC coursework and passing your exam!
  • My focus is on the application of combining and integrating mind body principles, mindfulness, clinical hypnotherapy, somatic therapy, CBT, DBT and spiritual growth. I provide EMDR, Tapping, Guided Imagery, Advanced Relaxation Training, and Meditation. I have taken training courses with Deepak Chopra, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, The HypnoBirthing Institute, The LeClaire Method of Hypnobirthing and Hypnofertility, I have take additional coursework in Body Centered Hypnosis, Breastfeeding, and Creating Healthy Families with the Peterson Methods of Childbirth, Dr. Gayle Peterson.
  • My education and training are both secular and non-secular. I am a Texas Board Licensed Registered Nurse, Ordained Minister, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Childbirth Educator, Hypnosis Labor Doula, and Birth Specialist. I created and taught The Hypno-Tranquil Birth Method for Natural Pain Management at local hospitals, wellness centers, and in private practice. This is a Holistic Mind Body Spirit method for Birth that begins during Pregnancy. I have both non-secular and secular education and professional training. I did obtain a doctorate in a non-related counseling field and have advanced training in theology, world religions,  multi cultural healing modalities, and ceremonial rites of passage. I have a thirst for knowledge and a passion to learn more about energy psychology, metaphysics, ancient teachings of wisdom, shamanism, and the laws of attraction and distraction.

  • I enjoy seeing the evolvement of the eastern healing modalities now being integrated with modern medicine,  physical wellness, and emotional, spiritual, and psychological well-being. I love helping people heal, overcome, transform, remove emotional blocks and become all that they have the possibility of becoming! Faith in yourself is vital to having a joyful, peaceful, and happy life. Just as I help pregnant women learn to tap into their inner wisdom in the preparation for empowerment and transition to motherhood, I help promote the development of intuition to the Birth Workers, Hypnotherapy Students, and upcoming LPC's to have the ability to connect, have an emotional awareness,  present sound judgment and insight by facilitating an intuitive dance with the clients that they serve.  My favorite theorist is Carl Jung and I am a firm believer in the subconscious mind and  the need of learning how to tap into the archetypes and core beliefs that can impact our thoughts, feelings, actions, attitudes and beliefs. These archetypes, I believe have a huge impact on whether we create our own success or failure.
  •
  • The current focus of my private practice is in the area of Workshops, CEU Professional Training, Retreats, and Classwork. I still provide professional consultation for creating a dream practice. I see adults and older teens for family of origin issues, marital problems, relationship issues, binge eating disorders, anxiety and fear release, mother-daughter issues, love, sex, and relationship addiction. I help others heal from codependency and abusive narcissistic relationships. I am a facilitator for Enlightened Relationship Workshops and Retreats.
  • I offer therapy groups ranging from codependency recovery, infant, stillborn, miscarriage grief, to wise women tribes for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum,( the 4th trimester). I also offer a weekly group for women that struggle with chronic binge eating, emotional eating and body image.
  • I have taken and completed the coursework for Certification In: Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, Trauma Recovery Therapy, Birth Trauma, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Complex PTSD, Certified Addictions-Informed mental Health Professional, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Advanced Training and Fellow Status with NBCCH, and more...I strive to be on the cutting edge in the fields of nursing, energy psychology, mind body medicine, nutrition, and mental health counseling. I firmly believe that the best therapists are those that have undergone their own therapy and continue to grow throughout the life-span. I encourage the interns that I supervise to have their own therapist.
More About Me
I am here to walk with you on your journey to becoming a confident, well rounded, ethical mental health clinician during these challenging times of Covid 19. Part of each supervision session is devoted to providing you with tools to not only help yourself to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue, but skills you can help your clients better cope with their original reasons for needing therapy and now having more complex issues facing them with "The New Now." I continue to advance myself professionally, personally, physically, and spiritually each day. I have been challenged with COVID 19 to continue the practices of mindfulness, medication, prayer, and living a healthy lifestyle more than ever before. The scope of my counseling practice has changed since the pandemic and my approach to treatment is on the MIND BODY SPIRIT mental health and wellness. I am a offering front line mental health services on zoom responding to the tragedy and grief affecting Texas residents. I have a new Canine Cadette, named Maya that is a 5 month old mixed Shepard. She will soon be joining her new fur siblings in providing animal assisted therapy.  She is enrolled in a local training program to become an official Therapy/Service Dog.
I am very grateful to have had amazing mentors, professors, and supervisors in the fields of psychiatric and obstetrical nursing, neuroscience, psychoneuroimmunology, clinical hypnotherapy, spirituality, theology and counselor education. As a licensed professional counselor supervisor, clinical hypnotherapist fellow, and registered nurse health and wellness coach, I strive to keep current with the trends in medicine, nutrition, spiritual care, and mental health counseling. Each month I strive to complete at least one or two different courses in continuing education. I believe that becoming an excellent counselor you must never stop growing and learning and I encourage those I supervise commit to hard work, ethical practices, and dedication to ongoing learning and growing learning as individuals and clinicians. and seek their own mental health counseling.
Supervision with Me
Supervision is a relationship that you should enter into with confidence, peace of mind, and knowledge about what you will be gaining and learning from your potential supervisor. You will want to choose someone that is experienced and knowledgeable. Trust and  mutual respect are vital components in creating a safe learning environment where you feel challenged to grow. I provide a collaborative working relationship and create a framework that encourages professional development, increased knowledge, and skill building in an interactive and fun way.
I am here to return to the individuals that I counsel, teach, mentor, and supervise 100% dedication and commitment to service and with gratitude give back what was given to me.

I was fully licensed as a counselor in 1994 and soon took training to become a supervisor, and have been providing LPC Supervision since 2005. I have been a registered nurse and childbirth educator since 1974. I have been a clinical hypnotherapist since 1982 and have earned the prestigious status of FELLOW Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists.

The most rewarding parts of my private practice career are working with interns and working with new and expectant parents to create healthy families during the childbearing years. My previous interns have successful careers in private practices, universities, schools, hospitals, treatment facilities, government and community based mental health settings. I am here to help you develop your own professional identity as you discover your strengths, preferences, and individual style of counseling.  I use role play, case review discussions, and together we listen to your video/audio tapes. With me as your supervisor, you will learn to sharpen you diagnostic and assessment skills, learn more about case processing and conceptualization, treatment planning, research based models of therapy, designing treatment interventions, referral and termination processes, ethics, and compliance issues. I have over 40 years of combined mental health experience as a registered nurse, case manager, patient educator, group facilitator, board certified clinical hypnotherapist, licensed professional counselor supervisor, and former licensed chemical dependency counselor.
